Just been looking at some maps of what happens if we don't restore the Everglades at a time of climate change to salt water intrusion in South Florida and it's pretty extreme.
On top of that, the Everglades are home to the largest mangrove tree population in the western hemisphere, which not only form habitats locally, but also help shield those inland plants, animals, and people from storms.
There are certain sloughs out here in the Everglades that can be a little bit deeper than the prairies and the outside area and the water only moves about a 100 foot throughout the entire day.
